Park Regular (~1100) knows two openings and uses both in every game. Out of the book it plays like a stubborn club beginner: solid enough, then a tactic appears and the position collapses.
It will occupy the center, develop most pieces, and still hang a fork if you set one up.
How to beat them
- Do not play into a line you do not know just because they repeat it. A simple developing system (Italian, London, or a solid French/Caro) is enough.
- Scan for knight forks on c2/c7 and undefended bishops. That is how most games at this level are decided.
- Three wins unlock Club Captain. Spot the threat after each of their moves — Park Regular’s tactics are loud.
